Dan’s Head and Shoulders shoot

Head and Shoulders in a photographic sense, of course. Dan wanted some shots to replace his current profile shot on business networking sites like LinkedIn and Ecademy. “Professional and approachable, business-like and warm” was the brief. I also wanted to throw in something a bit different; a little unexpected both in terms of setting and look and feel. Here are some of the results.

Dan - Martin was professional, but also made me feel comfotable straight away. I’m not a natural in front of the camera and the last time I tried to get some profile shots with another photographer I wasn’t happy with the results.

This time I’m delighted Martin, you’ve understood exactly what I’m looking for, well done.

Healthy [looking] shots

Bridie has just finished writing a book on holistic medicine and needed some shots for the cover, among other uses, that depicted health, vitality, fun, life. Bridie thoroughly enjoyed herself and this comes across, I think, in the shots.

Beautiful portrait shoot in Scotland

I was in Scotland recently on a business trip, staying with a friend. Her nephew and his wife had recently had a baby and I took some images of them all. Jamie only had an hour and the baby, of course, slept most of the time! But this did mean that Kat and I had a great time shooting all over their wonder estate house and gardens. Here are some of my favourite shots.

Maria and Rupert are married

There may well have been racing at Newmarket on 19 September, but the real event was Maria and Rupert’s wedding. The Catholic church of Our Lady and St Etheldreda was host for the ceremony and provided beautiful light. We then all travelled the short distance to Bedford Lodge Hotel for the reception drinks, meal and evening entertainment. The highlight for me was the moment when Rupert broke off from the first dance, took a microphone from the live band and sang a serenade to Maria. No-one knew it was going to happen – not even Maria – it brought the house down and, I confess, a tear to my eye. What a lovely couple.

A quiet day at Brandshatch

Not the circuit, but at Brandshatch Hotel where Lucy and James got married on 31 August. Despite thunderstorms over much of the UK, the weather was kind to us – plus we had the luxury of the whole hotel to ourselves. This is also this first time I have seen anyone use a flower pot for make-up; and I thought I had seen it all. Here are a few of my favourite pics.

Anonymous - Martin, they are superb! Looking forward to seeing the whole batch next Monday! People have passed comments to me on what a fantastic personality you were and wished they had known about you for their weddings. Shall certainly recommend you! Mother of the Bride, Lindsey
